Description
In Buddhist practice, singing bowls are used as a support for meditation, trance induction and prayer.
This small, beaten black bowl is simple asthetically but a powerful tool.
Singing bowls are a type of bell, rather than hanging inverted or attached to a handle, the singing bowls sit with the bottom surface resting. The sides and rim of singing bowls vibrate to produce sound.
The sounds the singing bowls produce are said to create a kind of energy that may center the frequencies of the body, mind, and soul. Playing these bowls has also been said to cause the left and right sides of the brain to synchronise together, creating a peace and calm during meditation.
Singing bowls have the ability to rebalance or heal chakras because each energy centre has a unique vibrational frequency that interacts with the vibrational frequencies created when playing a singing bowl.
