Guohua Picture Stones

Guohua picture stones are not painted pictures, they are completely natural stone but somehow pictures appear in the rock, and look surprising like ancient Chinese art.

Of course each stone is individual, unique and different, so there will be slight variation from the illustration image.

The stones are polished stone, they have imperfections and the patterns run on both sides.

These stones are only found in the Guangxi province of China and the rock is an ancient very fine-grained limestone with rich iron oxide content, the patterns are naturally formed by manganese dendrites.

It is believed that the rock was formed over a million years ago, and is crafted and polished by local skilled artisans who bring out the ancient natural art before mounting them on rosewood bases.
