Have a story burning inside you that you long to tell? Started writing and stopped after three words? Somehow feel almost afraid to write?

It’s never too late to start writing!

Critically acclaimed novelist Anna Smith Spark gives advice on starting – and, more importantly, finishing – a novel or other creative writing project.

The session is aimed at anyone who wants to write but is struggling to find the time or confidence that will get them started. Or who needs a boost to get them back into their work. Or who’s generally interested in the creative writing process.  

The first session will discuss getting started and keeping going. Two further sessions will encourage participants to  share progress and thoughts, with constructive feedback.  

While Anna writes fantasy, the sessions will be suitable for all literary genres, poetry, memoire, and non-fiction projects such as nature writing. The only requirement is an interest in finding your creativity.

Anna Smith Spark is the multi-award shortlisted author of the folk horror fantasy The Making of This World Ruined series A Sword of Bronze and Ashes and A Sword of Gold and Ruin; and the Empires of Dust epic fantasy series The Court of Broken Knives, The Tower of Living and Dying and The House of Sacrifice. Her books have been described as ‘masterworks’ and ‘awe-inspiring’ and compared to Tolkien, Moorcock and Le Guin.
