Description
Agate
Agate is a type of crystal that has a structure so fine that no distinct particles are visible, even under a microscope. Agate is known for its beautiful banding patterns which can vary widely, making each piece unique.
Agates are thought to contain many shared benefits including balancing energies, promoting harmony, and providing protection. They are however mostly used in spiritual healing and meditation to help balance chakras. Agate comes in several colours and each colour is believed to relate to a particular chakra centre.
Red agates are often associated with the root chakra, at the base of the spine which is related to grounding, stability, and basic survival instincts.
Orange agates are linked with the sacral chakra, in the lower abdomen which is associated with emotions, creativity, and sexuality.
Yellow agates are connected to the solar plexus chakra, in the upper abdomen which is related to personal power, confidence, and self-esteem.
Green agates are associated with the heart chakra, which is located in the centre of the chest and is related to love, compassion, and emotional balance.
Blue agates are linked with the throat chakra, this chakra is associated with communication, self-expression, and speaking one’s own truth.
Purple agates are connected to the third eye chakra, located between the eyebrows. This chakra is related to intuition, perception, and inner wisdom.
White or clear agates are associated with the crown chakra, at the top of the head which is related to spiritual connection, consciousness, and higher awareness.
Agate also comes in slices. Agate slices are thin, flat pieces cut from Agate and are known for their unique and beautiful banding patterns, which result from different mineral impurities and the way the crystals form in layers. The distinctive patterns and vibrant colours make Agate slices popular for decorative and ornamental purposes.
